Two Topics:

"Ka" or "Fate". Not only does "Ka" mean Fate, but it implies that there is no such thing as coincidence, at least, that is what I learned from reading the Gunslinger series. Today, I have experienced "Ka". (Remember that "Ka" comes like the wind). Today, during 6th period, the topic of Mr. Wilhelm's discussion was of Hitlers decision to "purify" the Aryan race by exterminating Jews. He also asked us this important question:

"Pretty soon, maybe in the next 10 years or so, we will be able to change human DNA patterns and will be able to create humans with specific features. We can ask for any type of person: tall or short, fat or skinny, blonde or brunette. The question is, is it 'right'?"

Would it be okay to act as God and create our own babies however we see fit?

Here is where "Ka" comes in.

Scott M. lent me the Anime series: Gundam Seed. A story of two peoples (the Naturals and the Coordinators) who are at war with each other because of a certain incident from one year ago. Apparently nearly 300,000 Coordinators died because of the Naturals. (The cause of the deaths is still unknown to me, ive only watched 8 out of 50 episodes). In anycase, Coordinators are "human" and so are Naturals.

Naturals, the name given to those who have been "naturally" born. Coordinators, the name given to those who have been given life through the altering of the human genome. Coordinators surpass Naturals in physical and mental abilities. Depending on the parents of the Coordinators, the Coordinator may have specific traits (super human strength, intelect or a beautiful singing voice, just to name a few).

The point is, once I discovered what a Coordinator was, I realized I remembered Mr. Wilhelm and his discussion. And now I am watching a make-believe world where altering human genomes was possible and it led to.

Ka

The Second thing id like to get out is this:

Many of you know that I watch cartoons all the time. Both Japanese Animation and American cartoons. Some make fun of me (of course jokingly). Others watch with me. Some don't understand how I can watch hours of this stuff. Let me explain something.

Cartoons are cartoons. They are and always will be. Most of you are familiar with the typical cartoon where impossible things can happen. And yeah thats what a cartoon is, a window into a world, created by a person with a great imagination.

I could say, that I'm very wise for my age. My mother says I'm mature for my age. (sometimes) and hey maybe im wrong and they are wrong. But I see myself as wise. And you want to know something?

I can credit much of what I know to Video Games, Anime, and Books. Many of us can go to school. Learn everything that every teacher has to offer, and still wont know some of the things you can learn from Video Games, Anime, and Books.

Through Video Games, I've been able to excersie my mind in many ways. Figuring out complex puzzles. Learning how to make decisions with a time span of one second. And yes, I've learned some important life lessons from various video games.

Through Reading, I've built my imagination. Reading has helped me to write and visualize concepts that I could use for almost any situation. Its made my world inside my mind much larger. And there is ALWAYS something to learn through reading. (So for you NON-Readers out there. You are missing out)

Through Anime, I've learned some of the biggest life lessons. Hell, I've learned how to deal with GIRLS through Anime. Sure its unrealistic when you got a 30 story mecha fighting in outer space, but I dont JUST watch Anime just because it Looks COOL. Hell yea it looks cool. And most people only watch it because it LOOKS cool.

But for me, I've learned to see deeper into the story. I've taught myself to truly understand what the writer was trying to convey. I've learned how to read and analyze all the different characters. An ability ive exercised so much that many people find it amazing that I can predict a possible outcome of a movie, based only on the first 20 minutes. You can learn SO much if you could just sit down and actually WATCH cartoons. You would be surpised.

Ah. Its 1:13 in the morning. Just finished watching 8 episodes of Gundam Seed. Im gonna be hella tired tomorrow (rather today). Ah well. Its worth it. I have something to temporarily take my mind of my troubles.

SAT 1 in one day. Wish me luck ^_^.
